During late autumn of 2015 compositions for the competition, fresh out of the press from all around the world, were sent in to Studentsångarna and the jury of that year. Some months later in early spring, we started exploring and enjoying our gift of newly composed pieces. Later that spring, the jury selected three of the best pieces and the three corresponding finalists were invited to our Composition Award concert where these fantastic compositions would be performed for the public for the very first time. At this concert the winner of the competition, Cecilia Damström, was also announced. The other two finalists were Maria Löfberg and Laura Stevens.

The pieces that were composed for this competition has accompanied the choir ever since. We have performed them at festivals and tours in e.g. Iceland and Wales and of course at our own local concerts in Linköping. Other male voice choirs in Sweden have also shown interest for some of these pieces and have also had the pleasure to enjoy them. The pieces have brought us immense joy and we are very grateful for the composers contribution to our ensemble and the male voice genre as a whole!
