The first Linköpings Studentsångare Composition Award was won by Cecilia Damström from Finland, for her fantastic piece “At Teasdale’s”!

For an artistic and through-composed suite in three movements that congenially interprets and conveys Sara Teasdale’s exquisite and expressive lyrics. The composer utilises the male choir’s richness and variety of possibilities, with a substantial feeling for the male voice conditions. With its personal musical language “At Teasdale’s” has a great opportunity to appeal to both singers, and the audience.

The second place was awarded to Maria Löfberg from Sweden, for her piece “Sing!”, and the third place was awarded to Laura Stevens from South Africa, for her piece “The Way We Go”. All of the three pieces will be published by Bo Ejeby Förlag. The concert was very well received, both by our esteemed contestants as well as by the audience. Following the concert, all three composers were appointed honorary members of Linköpings Studentsångare. The whole evening was filled with laughter, gratitude, and of course, singing!

Sheet music for the winning entry At Teasdale’s can be found at Bo Ejeby publishing.
